Waiting time: 19 min

Eating Turkish melon in a truck

Eating Turkish melon in a truck

When we started hitchhiking on this spot, we caught the attention of a driver who was DRIVING THE OTHER WAY. He honked and waved us. About 10 minutes later he had turned around and picked us up. On the way he bought some melon and showed us a neat way to cut it quickly into pieces you can easily pick and eat.

Although we waited quite some time, we were amazed about how badly people want to pick you up around here. If they can’t they will communicate to you with body language that they have no room or they are turning away. This keeps the spirit high when waiting on the roadside.
